DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Assist with development and unit testing of solutions as specified in the Technical Design, obtain application script reviews from appropriate technical staff, and ensure standards and policies are adhered to. Execute projects and be accountable for successful technical implementation of business software applications. Coordinate internal IT processes and resources in order to successfully deploy new solutions to the business. Offer proposed design changes and suggestions to processes and applications, and exert significant latitude in determining objectives of an assignment. Provide performance and capacity recommendations to the application and infrastructure teams. Define and refine metrics used to assess application performance and utilization. Participate in architectural and design meetings and provide technical expertise to the teams. Enforce coding standards and best practices. Drive monthly and quarterly project releases and participate in developing release plan documents, work plans, and schedules for each release. Participate in application script reviews, design reviews, and unit test plan reviews.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: This position requires a Master's degree in Applied Computer Science, or related field of study plus five (5) years of experience in the job offered or five (5) years of experience as Software Engineer, IT Consultant, Application Developer, Technical Lead, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree and seven (7) years of experience in lieu of a Master's degree and five (5) years of experience.

Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following skills and technologies: design and programming in Java, J2EE, JVM Internals, Spring, and Hibernate; developing Rich User Interface applications with cross browser compatibilities using AJAX tools and JavaScript Frameworks, including: Angular JS and UI Technologies (e.g. HTML, JavaScript, or CSS); developing Mobile first responsive and adaptive experiences using responsive web design using tools such as HTML5 or CSS3; programming in PHP and Python; designing database solutions by performing data analysis, data modeling, data integrations, and SQL development; working in enterprise-grade software projects by applying proper SOA methodologies, APIGEE API development, and API gateways; distributed caching using Redis and Gemfire; Kafka and JMS messaging; programming in build tools such as Maven or Ant; Continuous Integration tools such as Jenkins or Hudson; Unit testing Frameworks including Junit and mockito; building mission-critical applications on cloud native environment using micro services architecture and Pivotal Cloud Foundry; Kubernetes and Docker Container technologies; analytics technologies and tools such as Tableau; and Agile methodologies.
