ColdQuanta is growing our Quantum Computing electrical engineering team to power and deepen our expertise in quantum technologies. We are looking for an embedded systems engineer that has expertise in low-level system development and experience integrating these systems into higher-level software components.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design and develop embedded firmware based on product requirements and specifications
  • Develop highly deterministic, reliable, and safe microcontroller and microprocessor code in C and Rust
  • Develop Python interfaces and test fixtures (strong Python proficiency required)
  • Support development of system emulation and simulation
  • Debug, test, and optimize HW and SW designs on the bench and in the lab
  • Develop and validate hardware interfaces working directly from schematic and PCB files (experience designing hardware interfaces is a huge plus)
  • Generate well defined code documentation

Candidates are required to have the following experience:

  • Bachelor of Science or other equivalent degree
  • 3 to 5 years of related experience
  • Excellent working knowledge of C, Rust, and Python (Rust experience preferred, but not required for candidates with strong C backgrounds).
  • Familiarity with performing circuit evaluation and characterization using bench test equipment including spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and logic analyzers
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to solve complex problems through design of appropriate experiments and analysis of complex data
  • Strong time management and multi-tasking skills
  • Capable of clear, accurate, and timely communication both written and verbal
  • Skilled in typical software engineering disciplines: testing, error-handling, readability, documentation, general code health, etc.
  • Willingness to try new tools and bleeding-edge approaches
  • Comfortable working in a Linux environment

  • HDL development (Verilog and high-level generation, targeted for Xilinx FPGAs)
