Duties: Provide high quality technology solutions that address business needs by developing applications within mature technology environments. Utilize mature methodologies and languages, and adhere to coding standards, procedures, and techniques while contributing to technical documentation. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed IT solution. Participate in design reviews and provide input to design recommendations. Incorporate security requirements into design, provide input to information and data flow, and understand and comply with project life cycle methodology in all planning steps. Adhere to IT control policies throughout design, development, and testing, and incorporate corporate architectural standards into application design specifications. Document detailed application specifications, translate technical requirements into programmed application modules, and develop and enhance software application modules. Participate in code reviews, and ensure that all solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications. Identify and troubleshoot application code-related issues, and review and provide feedback to final user documentation.
Minimum education and experience required: This position requires a Master's degree in Applied Computer Science, Computer Science, or related field of study plus three (3) years of experience in the job offered or three (3) years of experience as Software Engineer, Software Analyst, Programmer Analyst, or related role. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of experience in lieu of a Master's degree and three (3) years of experience.
Skills Required: This position requires three (3) years of experience with the following skills and technologies: C; C++; SQL; JAVA; J2EE; J2EE distributed application development; writing code in Java and Java memory profiling; developmental toolsets IntelliJ, Eclipse, Swagger, SQL Developer, and Splunk; Spring Boot; Hibernate; Oracle; Maven; REST; micro services; building services in cloud; relational databases; NoSQL databases; managed services layer; application, data, and infrastructure architecture disciplines; business requirements analysis; end-to-end software development life cycle; agile methodologies in development practices; and, collaborating with business analysts to develop and deliver IT solutions that meet business needs.
