As our next Tech Specialist, you’ll be our go-to for design, implementation and the support of systems that adhere to the principles of distributed methodologies.
In this team, you will work to integrate new products with existing components to provide services to meet the organisation’s needs. Not to mention, you’ll be the one with intimate knowledge of tools and mechanisms for distributing new software, as they become available.
Another expectation in this challenging role will be to ensure projects utilising diverse infrastructure providers are appropriately engineered and secured using the best practices for the specific solution or application. AWS Professional level: Recommended• AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional or• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional
Azure Certification: (Min MCSE cert): Advantageous• MCSA: Architecting Microsoft Azure Solutions• MCSA: Implementing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions• MCSA: Designing and Implementing Cloud Data Platform Solutions• MCSE: Developing Microsoft Azure Solutions• MCSE: Architecting Microsoft Azure Solutions• MCSE: Designing and Implementing Cloud Data Platform Solutions
Vmware VCP or Hyper V: RecommendedRed Hat Certified Engineer: RecommendedAnsible or other Automation tool: (Ansible, Chef, Puppet or Terraform) RecommendedExperience in one of the following: C, C++, Java, Python, Go, Perl or Ruby
Key Responsibilities:• Experience with Docker containers and Kubernetes and other types of Microservices and Container technologies highly preferred• Experience with application load balancing solutions for scaling and HA• Linux and Windows administration experience• Well versed in internet architectures, including web, application, and database components• Deep understanding of firewalls, NAT and packet filtering (specifically lP tables)• General Networking skills required (Layer 2 & 3 switches, TCP/IP, SNMP, etc.)• Interest and ability to learn other technologies and tools as needed• Exposure and hands on experience with Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS) with strong coding capability in building environments and deploying applications.• Experience with various Microsoft and open-source based platforms is a plus (such as IIS, MsSQL, Apache, Tomcat, MySQL, Postgres, Mongo, Redis, Cassandra, etc.)• Flexibility in scheduling with a willingness to work extra non-standard hours on occasion• Linux Administration - 8+ years• Virtualisation Support - 8+ years• Open Source platforms Support - 8+ Years• CouchBase• RabbitMQ• Kafka• ELK• Storage = 3+ Years• Scripting & Automation• Worked on large complex projects• Good documentation• Cloud experience - 3+ years• Scripting & Automation - 5+ years• Worked and lead on large complex projects
