Join the Intel Data Platforms Group (DPG) Office of the CTO (OCTO) to tackle complex information assurance and security architecture problems for future workloads. If you find it exciting to work in a diverse team, at the intersection of hardware, software, CPU ISA, and work with academia and industry leaders, then we have the opportunity for you. The Intel DPG Security Pathfinding and Architecture team works on all aspects of Data Center Security from Platform integrity and resilience, to Confidential Computing for cloud workloads. We are looking for phenomenal technical candidates (experienced and/or grad school) to join our team to innovate on the topics of workload isolation, trusted execution and applied cryptography to develop robust security architecture to mitigate evolving threats. As a security architect, you will be responsible for developing ideas for micro-service isolation, modeling changes to language runtimes/software, hardware and firmware for heterogeneous processing elements. You will work in a team of engineers to develop:

  • A. The reference model to evaluate potential directions for ISA, software and micro-architecture to meet the security objectives and performance objectives of evolving workloads. You will investigate software/hardware co-design architectures for software isolation on XPUs.
  • B. The xpu architecture for extending confidential compute to device models (tightly-coupled and loosely-coupled accelerators) and remote memory access models.
  • C. The models for formal verification of key software elements of trusted compute base that support confidential compute architecture for cloud.

Evaluate security of functional extensions to confidential compute architecture (hw/sw co-design). Responsible for secure design, development and operation of Intel's hardware and software products and services.

  • Responsibilities may include threat assessments, design of security components, and vulnerability assessment.
  • Ensures products conform to standards and specifications.
  • Develops plans and cost estimates and assesses projects to analyze risks. Responds to customer/client requests or events as they occur.
  • Develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education, judgment and formal processes. Maintains substantial knowledge of state-of-the-art security principles, theories, attacks and contributes to literature and conferences.
  • May participate in development of intellectual property. Requires thorough knowledge of security practices, procedures and capabilities in order to perform non-repetitive, analytical work.

  • The candidate must possess a Master's degree in Computer Science/Engineering (Ph.D preferred) with strong background in graduate-level computer security courses.
  • The candidate must have a strong systems programming background with educational/work experience preferred in one or more of the following areas:
  • Systems software (OS/hypervisors), applied cryptography, compilers, programming languages, architecture simulation, FPGA programming, secure computing, side-channels. Behavioral traits desired:
  • A self-starter candidate is desired with a security-oriented mindset to be able to perform threat-modeling and attack analysis of system (SW/HW) designs.
  • Attention to detail, good verbal and written communication skills as evident from reports/papers.
  • Ability to work in a diverse team to meet milestones with good organization skills.
