The Reference Data Technology Data Distribution team (part of the Corporate Technology organization) provides reference data delivery solutions using advanced messaging solutions and frameworks, supporting the entre firm by delivering Client, Account, Document, Instrument and Core Reference data.

The Reference Data Distribution Developer role shall be part of a team working on the strategic build up of the future state reference data technology platform for the bank. Candidates will be expected to possess and demonstrate good experience and skills with key technologies including Core Java, JDBC, JMS, XML and queue based messaging. Decent RDBMS/SQL database skills and UNIX experience are also required. Experience with search engines such as ElasticSearch, or nosql databases such as MongoDB, would be an advantage.

The candidate will be a good problem solver who is happy to work in a challenging and changeable environment. The role involves working closely with other team members, analysts and clients globally to deliver software to strict deadlines with high quality.

Technical Competencies:


Java Key APIs are: JMS, JUnit and JDBC J2EE (Web Services, Servlets) with Spring boot. Good fundamentals in data structures, caching, multithreading, messaging and asynchronous communication JSON and XML (SAX / DOM parsing and manipulation).


RESTful web services development Messaging - Kafka and WebSphere MQ Java Frameworks (preferably Spring / SpringBoot) Development tools (Maven, Jenkins, Intellij) Familiarity with linux and knowledge of command line ElasticSearch MongoDB RDBMS/SQL Git source control

Education (where applicable): Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent

Additional Info:

A small element of third line support is expected with weekend support being performed on a rotation basis with other team members.
