To help us bring amazing hearing technology to more people around the world, we are looking for a Research Tools Engineer (f/m/d) for full-time employment in Berlin.


As our Research Tools Engineer (f/m/d) you will...

  • Write tested, well documented Python and JS code for internal tools and servicesBuild, deploy and maintain full-stack user interfacesweb applications (web and native) used for in-house and remote research studies
  • Coordinate with the backend team to establish processes for storage and retrieval of research study data, including medical-grade hearing test results as well as data on listening behavior and preference
  • Create and maintain infrastructure to document and archive research analysis code and results
  • Support translation of research prototype to full production code
  • Closely work and align with audio engineers, hearing scientists, data engineers, and developers
  • Have full responsibility of your own projects


  • 3 months: learn about core Mimi technology through supporting senior researchers by helping build solutions to expedite work
  • 6 months: take on more responsibility for improving current processes, and manage a suite of research tools
  • 1 year: work on improving Mimi technology by developing tools and processes to expedite innovation


  • Degree in the fields of computer science, audio engineering, electrical engineering, natural sciences, media technology or similar
  • Solid foundation in audio signal processing
  • Excellent knowledge and 2+ years of professional experience in Python and JS
  • Good understanding of the scientific process and ability to work with research data, plots and language
  • Strong documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Proactive attitude and ability to identify problems early on and suggest solutions
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • In short: you like to own all aspects of your work, you have an independent and creative mindset and you love to build “stuff” and get things done
