What you will do:

You will develop an Android application used by field service technicians to install, service & repair remote IoT networks in fruit and nut orchards. As part of the role, you can expect to:

  • Understand our field service processes and pain points to provide technical solutions
  • Utilize Google Maps APIs to capture and visualize IoT node and device information
  • Develop interfaces to guide through complex IoT installation and repair processes
  • Communicate and coordinate with the development team, stakeholders and users
  • Participate in design discussions and code review


We want you to succeed, so you will need:

  • 3+ years of experience with Android development.
  • Experience developing and releasing native Android apps
  • Working knowledge of Kotlin
  • Experience maintaining and syncing data using both real-time & long-term storage
  • Knowledge of REST API principles
  • Good communication skills to discuss issues and features directly with users
  • Strong troubleshooting skills to understand reported issues & provide timely patches

Nice to have:

  • Working knowledge of Kotlin Multiplatform Mobile (KMM)
  • An interest in IoT and/or agriculture
  • Working knowledge of Google Maps Android API
  • An understanding of how to deliver an offline-first experience (WorkManager)
  • Experience using native mobile features (GPS, NFC)
  • Experience testing Android user interfaces (Espresso, Robotium)
  • Experience working with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP)
  • Experience using SQL (PostgreSQL, BigQuery) and/or NoSQL (Firestore)
  • Experience working with JavaScript or Node.js
  • General understanding of computer networks
  • Familiarity with agile/scrum development methodology
