The Senior Test Engineer will be responsible for gaining deep understanding of existing and new products’ features in an effort to lead in the development, maintenance and improvement of test plans, test procedures, and automated test source code. Work with an experienced and capable technical team conceiving, creating, and testing the next generation of irrigation devices and connected systems. Position Responsibilities:
Work with cross organizational teams to gather product’s feature specifications; becoming subject matter expert on product’s operations, features, and use cases.
- Validate that products meet or exceed specifications by identifying and creating a mix of manual and automation test coverage plans and associated procedures
- Prepare, document, maintain, and track test results via standardized reporting of all test coverage plans and procedures
- Perform implementation of automated tests and equipment drivers, which could be written in C, C++, C#, Perl, Python, Java, or other appropriate and cost effective test automation scripting languages
- Assist in identifying opportunities for more robust Design for Testability (DFT) requirements
- Investigate, track and be resident expert on test automation tools, software stacks, and best practices
- Participate in sustaining activities for existing products including diagnosis and resolution of defects
- Assist in identifying and recommending test and measurement equipment purchases for test automation or manual testing, when needed
- Work with vendors to design and develop test fixtures and monitor their work, when needed
- Responsible for keeping excellent, organized project records and documentation
- Work within existing product development and release processes; but contribute to process improvement through recommendations and experimentation
Qualifications:
- B.S. in Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Science Engineering, related technical degree or equivalenttest engineering extensive experience
- Track record of innovative and creative thinking used to create effective solutions within the test engineering discipline
- Exposure to full product life cycle from concept to production release
- Evidence of strong architecture design thinking and ability to clearly document designs
- At least 5 years’ hands on, test engineering and/or test automation experience
- Experience with at least one of the following: Java, Java Scripting or Swing
- Experience with at least one of the following: Perl, Python, C, C++, C#
- Experience with at least one of the following: XML or JSON
- Understanding of at least one of the following: Selenium or Appium
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), works effectively with cross-functional teams
- Proven experience in a team-oriented work environment
- Self-starter, detail oriented, analytical, problem solver
