To us, that speaks volumes.ABOUT THIS ROLEThe Android Core Groups name says it all: this team owns the central experience for the Audible Android App. Android Software Development Engineers build user interfaces for listeners, expand and improve deployment, test, test and test again and work with new technologies powered by our parent company, Amazon. You think creatively and seek to adapt the message to the audience.As an Android Developer, you will...· Collaborate on software development, including concept, design and execution with a high standards of operational excellence.· Partner with product management to implement, test, and launch software that wows our community and inspires your peers.· Stay ahead of tools, trends, technologies and standard methodologies, both industry-wide and within Amazon, sharing your knowledge with the group.· Work on diverse teams across multiple functions and geographic locations.Basic Qualifications· Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design· Bachelor's degree in computer science related fields OR 1+ years equivalent experience in software development· Demonstrated knowledge of data structures and algorithms.· Demonstrated ability designing for performance, scalability and availability.· Experience designing for performance, scalability and availability.Preferred Qualifications· Ability to navigate highly complex and ambiguous situations· Ability to work independently with little supervision and successfully resolve ambiguity· Willingness to learn, be open minded to new ideas and different opinions yet knowing when to stop, analyze, and reach a decision· Demonstrated engineering proficiency; full-stack development experience - web + services - If you've built something in your spare time send us the link, we'd love to hear about it· Ability to think creatively and adapt the message to the audience.· Can provide information to technical and non-technical stakeholders alike and guide them to confidently informed decisions· Experience working with Agile methodologies· Adaptable, enterprising, and willing to take ownership.· Enjoy solving complex engineering problems.· Excellent communication skills.ABOUT AUDIBLEAt Audible, we innovate and inspire through the power of voice.
