Job Description

As a Production Engineering senior team member in Commercial Banking Technology, you will be working to create, maintain and improve observability, SRE adoption and practices, infrastructure automation, deployment, monitoring, performance, and capacity management tools and practices. You will also develop software solutions and use/connect off the shelf tools to solve production operations problems. Having hands-on development experience is a must.

Role Requirements and Expectations * Proven experience defining and implementing enterprise-level observability strategy, including rollout of tools to gather required telemetry (events, metrics, logs, traces) for on-premise and cloud applications * Experience implementing telemetry tools, including but not limited to APM (AppDynamics, DynaTrace, Datadog), Tracing (Jaeger, Tempo, Zipkin), Logging (Splunk, Fluentd), Prometheus, and as well as infrastructure components (network, OS, database, MQ, etc.). * Hands-on lead who can drive change and influence firm's telemetry products and services to meet the needs of CB's business and application teams. * Ability and relevant experience working with cross line of business teams, service providers and partner organizations to ensure consistent SRE strategy and practices * Experience implementing SRE Practices and adoption of SLIs, SLOs across large teams * Understanding of networking and cloud technologies, for example, security, load balancing, network routing protocols. * Participate in-deep technical and product direction, with a clear understanding of the product roadmap and potential risks. * Customer focused, understanding specific use cases from different groups and challenging the team to build solutions that reduce user issues and can be easily supported. * Educate application developers on the best way to understand the runtime state of a product effectively through telemetry.

Qualifications * Deep technical understanding of monitoring and telemetry capabilities - Prometheus, Jaeger, ITRS Geneos, Dynatrace and/or OpenTelemetry experience a plus * Hand-on experience with cloud-based technologies and tools especially in deployment, monitoring, and operations, such as Datadog, Prometheus, Splunk, Elasticsearch, Grafana * Strong knowledge and experience across multiple platforms, including on public and private cloud architecture (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.) * Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience on both Unix (RHEL) and Windows Server operating systems. Experience in large and complex environments a benefit * Experience with Java (Tomcat, Websphere, Weblogic, Webmethod), .NET, Web Servers (IHS, Apache, IIS) technologies are essential * Strong working knowledge of modern development technologies and tools such Agile, CI/CD, Git, and Jenkins. * Development experience with Java, Python, Go and associated frameworks * Bash and PowerShell scripting skills are essential * Experience using one of the following configuration management tools: Ansible, Puppet, Terraform * Knowledge of internet protocols and web services technologies such as HTTP, DNS, TCP/UDP, SOAP, JSON and REST * Strong communication both written and verbal and organization skills. Technical writing and documentation skills. * Passionate about good engineering practices, new technologies and proven leadership skills with drive for continuous improvement.
