The Credit eTrading Technology team is focused on delivering best in class IT solutions to the Credit business where JP Morgan is a market leader. We are a team of around 50 people with the core of our development effort based in London, New York, Chicago and Hong Kong where we partner closely with the quant research group and face off directly to the trading desks. Our core strength is providing technical expertise and software development skills that directly affect the ability of our business to generate revenue and remain the dominant player in the market. We are looking to hire an experienced front office facing electronic trading software engineer, to work in our New York team focused on continuing the build out of our automated trading functionality for the business that we support.
The successful candidate will focus on design, build and delivery of our strategic eTrading platform and partner closely with our business stakeholders, quantitative research partners and broader eTrading technology team of highly-skilled and business-aligned technologists. Products traded include corporate bonds, single name CDS, index CDS and index CDS options.
The role will combine all aspects of software development from design and build to deployment, working within a global team of experienced technologists. It requires expertise overseeing the buildout of high quality and reusable components in a service-oriented architecture. The successful candidate must be comfortable facing off directly to senior front office business stakeholders in a high pressure, challenging role with a focus on solving business problems via technology in a fast changing environment: time to market is critical, but without compromising on quality or performance.
Key Responsibilities * Partner with business leaders and quants on the design, build and delivery of our automated trading infrastructure. * Develop robust, performant trading systems using the most suitable technology choices. Align development with the overall Credit trading strategy. * Work across the entire software development lifecycle - requirements information gathering, design, implementation, testing, deployment, handover to operate teams. * Understand end-to-end contribution, execution and post-trade flows across the electronic trading platform. * Enhance the team by demonstrating best practice throughout the software development lifecycle: testing, code review, accurate status reporting, focus on application resilience and "operability".

Knowledge/Experience * Prior experience working in electronic trading in a front office facing role is essential. * The ideal candidate will likely be qualified to degree level in Computer Science, Maths or related engineering discipline. * Strong technology generalist - experience building highly performant and resilient applications used within a high performance/real-time environment. * Experience working in a team with a strong software development process (build, test, deploy etc.) .
