We're growing our Global Engineering Operations function to support our retail line of business and are looking for an Executive Leader to lead Engineering Operations across the EMEA region, based in London.

The role holder will be accountable for supporting retail channel availability on a 24x7 basis for the cloud native technology platform.

We're looking for an exceptional candidate who can hit the ground running.

The role holder will: * Report to the International Consumer Production Management Director * Work with stakeholders across Engineering and Product to deliver and uphold Production stability and quality standards to protect service. * Work with stakeholders across Engineering and Product to drive capacity and demand management to ensure AWS resources are appropriately provisioned to sustain the business growth (i.e have we got the right AWS instance types; Storage Classes and Scaling options) * Be responsible for Digital and Cloud operations, including event, incident, problem, change and release, as well as technical and operational resilience. * Inspire, coach and develop a team of Cloud Support Specialists / Reliability Engineers to deliver strategic objectives and meet their career aspirations. * Support Engineering to shape and drive the strategy and future direction of the function. * Represent engineering within the crisis management team, leading high impacting events. * Attend Business Control Forums. * Support project delivery aligned to strategic roadmap. * Management of outsourced relationships with technology providers and contractual relationships with IT vendors. * Ensure effective governance and controls framework is in place to safeguard the firm, stakeholders and customers. * International Travel may be required.

Core Requirements: * BS / BA Degree with Digital experience in Retail Banking or Financial Services. * Strong knowledge of Retail Banking regulations including BCOBs, PSD2, GDPR. * Min 5 years managing a wide IT scope in Site Reliability Engineering, Transformation and / or Service Management roles with a solid track record in strategic leadership and delivery. * Experience in crisis management with proven ability to lead with influence, and collaborate with colleagues throughout the firm. * Additional Qualifications in ITIL, Project Management such as Prince2, Agile (SaFe, Prince2) and AWS. * Practical expertise in managing Operational and Technical resilience in cloud fin-tech. * Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills (C-suite). * Exceptional track record of delivering high performance through people leadership and team building gained in a matrix organisation and / or agile development context. * Previous roles as a committee member. * Strong written and spoken English. Other European languages desired. * Experience leading teams working with cloud-based technologies and solutions. including but not limited to; AWS, GCP and Azure, with specific experience in the following AWS-based technologies: + EC2 + S3 + RDS + EKS + Route 53 + AWS Networking and Routing + IAM + Amazon KMS

* Exposure to modern database technologies including CockroachDB is desirable. * Working knowledge of cloud-native monitoring platforms including: + Prometheus + Thanos + Grafana + ElasticSearch
