W e are seeking an experienced Analytics Software Engineer with good Python knowledge and Web experience to help the Securities Services business identify opportunities to improve efficiency, increase revenue, optimize the operating model and risk framework and create value added data driven Products for our clients.
The successful candidate will work closely with our Quantitative Research team, Product Development and Product Business users to develop applications within our Analytics platform. They will also assist with the development of web-based end-user tools in addition to enhancing a Big Data platform to support the development of analytics and operational solutions.
This is a hands-on role requiring the design and development of applications. The successful candidate will write code (predominately Python) to enrich and apply statistical analysis to data sets to produce output that will help drive the business forward. A keen interest in statistical analysis, Machine Learning and cloud technologies would be advantageous. This role is ideal for someone who has a keen interest in working closely with stakeholders to solve business problems as well as learn a variety of technologies.
This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:- * Python knowledge with a strong track record of delivering with impact * Experience in developing Web-based user interfaces and good visualization skills * Knowledge of JavaScript; HTML5; and core libraries such as React.js and frameworks e.g. Tornado * Strong database skills with good knowledge of relational databases and an understanding of object-oriented databases * Knowledge of open source solutions and trending technologies * Well-grounded in Object-Oriented Programming and design patterns * Ability to build performant software and possesses good performance tuning knowledge * Familiarity with the SDLC and Agile * Excellent communication skills with the confidence to converse directly with business stakeholders * An ability to be self-sufficient and proactive whilst working in a broader team * Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
