This is a React Engineer role within the GIB / GCB Technology team, inviting candidates who are passionate about application design & programming, and aspire to contribute towards our digital transformation agenda. The role expects the developer to possess core Javascript fundamentals that includes writing componentized UIs as well as recommending guidelines & best practices. A successful candidate will be able to handle working across teams and partnering with teams outside of our immediate group to shape and drive the UI landscape.

Your typical day will include participating in our Agile software development process and developing code with a wide range of UI technologies including React JS, Cypress, Javascript, Typescript and more. You'll be collaborating in a global team with teammates in New York, Glasgow, London, Mumbai, and Bangalore, where you'll be rewarded for taking initiative and unleashing your creativity to help solve problems.

You will join an inspiring and curious global team that is responsible for designing and developing our core deal lifecycle management platform, delivering world-class technology solutions, providing analytics, business intelligence & controls for the world's #1 investment banking franchise, impacting thousands of users and generating $billions of revenue annually.

A minimum of 6 years of experience is required in several of the following to be considered for this role: * HTML, CSS/JSS, Web development fundamentals * JavaScript, Typescript, ESNext * ReactJS, ReactHooks, Redux, Material UI * Jest, @testing-library/react * Web services (primarily REST) * Core Java and Spring/Spring MVC/Spring Boot * Solid knowledge of component design principles in React and Flux * Must have strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills

Other desirable skills: * Cypress, Storybook, Lerna, single-spa * Esbuild, form libraries, emotion.js, GraphQL * Willing and able to learn the business to better solve problems * Self-starter, ability to work in a fast-paced team environment * Experience in a broad range of software design approaches and common UX patterns. Know when (and when not) to apply common front-end software design patterns (e.g., asynchronicity, promises, techniques to avoid prop drilling, etc.). * Strong believer in code quality and writing test cases using standard frameworks (jest, Cypress, @testing-library/react, etc.) and ability to do performance testing * Good understanding of authentication/authorization and integration with OAuth based authentication system
