We are looking for a strong hands-on (coding) technologist to be the lead of a team building high performing and responsive web-based applications using React/Angular 4+ for User Interface and Java Spring Boot for server development.

Responsibilities include: * You will be responsible for UI design and development of a data-intensive front-office application that will be deployed/used globally and needs to be extremely fast/responsive while slicing and dicing 100,000s of records * You will be the lead responsible for UI architecture and design for a very large strategic application that include replication, parallelism, web caching, and other advanced UI optimization techniques * You will be the primary liaison between the development and product teams and the UX platform team, ensuring that firm and divisional UX guidelines are properly adhered to and advanced to meet our business needs. * You will be able to demonstrate proficiency in development toolsets, UI frameworks, knowledge of JavaScript libraries * Work with designers and deliver both prototype and production-quality code in a variety of frameworks and tools * Define and drive the overall process of Interaction Design/Information Architecture for complex highly functional business applications * Both formally or informally uncover user needs and contexts via primary and secondary research techniques and leverage your learnings to come up with the big idea * Create, present, and document proposed solutions from the big ideas to the smallest components which might include interaction models and flows, screen and component states, data and information hierarchies * Own the stability of shipped web applications. * Create documentation and training resources

This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including: * BS/BA degree or equivalent experience * Expertise in application, data, and infrastructure architecture disciplines * Advanced knowledge of architecture and design across all systems * Proficiency in multiple modern programming languages * Knowledge of industry-wide technology trends and best practices * Keen understanding of financial control and budget management * Ability to work in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals * Passionate about building an innovative culture * Demonstrated UI and server side development experience * Experience in a UI Dev Lead role in (from scratch) designing applications within complex business domains similar to financial services * Proficiency in UI and Server Side Development, tools and frameworks including (Java, Spring Boot, HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, and React/Angular 4+) * Track record of successful deliveries and a strong portfolio that highlights their ideas and end-product. * Strong web development skills, including HTML, CSS (Bootstrap), and Angular * Working knowledge of micro services and cloud containers (Cloud Foundry, Heroku, etc.) * Experience using Embedded Tomcat or a similar Embedded technologies (Jersey, Grizzly, etc.) * Knowledge of the Spring Boot 1.4 and above desirable. * Technical analysis & design of business solutions * Excellent problem solving and communication skills * Excellent reasoning and debugging skills * Experience of testing at the unit, integration and system levels (TDD, BDD, etc) * Desirable Skills/Experience: * Experience of Continuous integration and Continue Delivery (e.g Jenkins and Cucumber) Experience of working with BDD using Cucumber and Selenium * Experience of working in an Agile manner * Experience of Maven build technology and continuous integration * Foundation education in graphic, industrial, interaction design or related degree
