The Rates eTrading D2C team partners with several Rates and Rates-related EM businesses to design, build and maintain solutions for electronic trading on client markets. We are mostly based in London and NYC but also maintain a presence in Japan and India, and our businesses span the globe. We cover several functional domains including fair value pricing, market pricing, contribution, execution, and STP, and manage the entire software development lifecycle. As such, we are a diverse group of project managers, business analysts, and developers (front-end and back-end). Our systems facilitate the trading of many products, the majority of which are securities and derivatives.

We are looking for an experienced UI developer to lead a small team in London. The team is responsible for Electra, a React.JS UI used by over 250 traders to trade with our clients on venues like Tradeweb, Bloomberg and MarketAxess. Electra is an essential tool of our trading desks; stability and performance are critical to their ability to service our clients. The successful candidate will be involved in the full software development life cycle and responsible for delivering high-quality and timely solutions. This is a "hands on" role where you will work side by side with the rest of the team. The role requires a strong technical skillset and solid problem solving skills. The ideal candidate will have experience working within technology at an investment firm and good business knowledge.

Key Responsibilities: * Manage a small team of UI developers (~5) * Work with BAs, the trading desks and other stakeholders to develop requirements * Work with other development leads to develop ideas, form plans and execute projects * Ensure team's deliveries are high quality and meet the needs of our users * Manage technical strategy of the UI, aligning with strategies of larger team/group where necessary * Maintain hygiene of the UI, evolving application as necessary to accommodate changes in usage and landscape, advances in technology and toolsets * Uphold and improve the team's software development process

Desirable Skills: * Strong knowledge of UI development, technologies and toolsets * Strong knowledge of Javascript, React and OpenFin * Experience developing low-latency and high-throughput UIs * Experience fine tuning UI performance on Windows * Bachelor's degree (or higher) in CS, CE or related field * Strong interpersonal and communication skills * Strong leadership skills * Rates product knowledge (bonds, interest rate swaps, repo) * Experience working in the financial industry
