DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Take part in the architecture, design, development, and testing of applications. Design, analyze, test, and deploy applications to satisfy business requirements for large, complex projects. Translate functional specifications into technical specifications and runbooks in support of application builds. Assist in third level support of applications once delivered into production. Work with internal clients and product owners to analyze and implement requirements. Serve as a member of a scrum development team to deliver technology solutions in an Agile fashion including sprint planning, complexity analysis, standups, and sprint retrospectives. Adhere to firm-wide architecture standards, risk management, and security policies. Assist with migrating applications to new cloud-based environment. Communicate timely build status on development items to management team, as well as work to resolve issues impacting development.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field of study plus five (5) years of experience in the job offered or (5) years of experience as System Analyst, Java or Application Developer, Software Engineer, or related occupation.
Skills Required: This position requires five (5) years of experience with the following skills and technologies: enterprise software development and software development life cycle (SDLC); JavaScript full-stack web development with React, Angular, or Vue; building REST or GraphQL services with Node and Express, Python and Flask, or Java and Spring Framework; automated testing tools for unit testing, Behavior Driven Development (BDD), and Test Driven Development (TDD), including Selenium and Cucumber; and using Object Oriented (OO) design patterns and frameworks, including application integration frameworks. This position requires four (4) years of experience with the following skills and technologies: standard build and deployment tools including Jenkins, Maven, Jira, Git, and Stash; and database development and design with Oracle or Sybase. This position requires one (1) year of experience with the following skills and technologies: communicating complex issues (translating or presenting complex issue in an easy to understand form for different audiences) to technical and non-technical audiences that include peers, partners, senior IT, and business management; converting User Interface and User Experience designs into working, web-based solutions; and messaging platforms such as Message Queue (MQ).
