This is a remote position. A member of our recruitment team will discuss location preferences with you in more detail.In this role you will focus on improving efficiency in the software development lifecycle (SDLC) by integrating software development, testing, support and maintenance, and operations. Responsibilities may include leading cloud enablement, containerization, infrastructure automation, and deployment automation; orchestrating efforts to enable a continuous integration / continuous improvement (CI/CD) pipeline; providing guidance on system options as needed in strategic planning discussions; developing and building technology solutions designed to scale and align with the DevOps model; and collaborating with both software engineers and infrastructure to manage code release.
Assist with building whole stack elastic load balancers (ELBs) to databases
Build and maintain tools, solutions, and microservices associated with deployment and our operations platform, ensuring that all meet our standards and reduce errors
Troubleshoot any issues that arise during testing and production, catching and solving issues before launch
Test system integrity, implemented designs, application developments, and other processes related to infrastructure, making improvements as needed
Deploy product updates as required while implementing integrations when they arise
Automate our operational processes as needed, with accuracy and in compliance with our security requirements; recommend process improvements, as needed
Specify, document, and develop new product features, and write automating scripts
Implement code deployments, fixes, updates, and related processes
Qualifications:
5-6 years’ experience in a DevOps engineer role (or similar role); experience in software development and infrastructure development is a plus
Bachelors in computer science or related field of study.
Strong experience with Linux-based infrastructures, Linux/Unix administration, and Amazon Web Services (AWS); with databases such as structured query language (SQL), MS SQL, MySQL, NoSQL, Hadoop, Elasticsearch, Redis, Cassandra, and/or Mongo
Working knowledge of scripting languages such as Java, JavaScript, Perl, Ruby, Python, PHP, Groovy, Bash
Experience with project management and workflow tools such as Agile, Jira, Scrum/Kanban/SAFe, etc.
Some exposure to and familiarity with Docker/Kubernetes
Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing and operations
Strong experience in build/release management
Knowledge of load balancing and high availability architectures.
Thinks big picture and understands the potential risk and impact of decisions
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work effectively independently and on a team
