To support our Platform and Production Engineering Team we are looking for you in full-time as a:

DevOps Platform Engineer (m/f/d) - AWS 

You are an experienced engineer, who is familiar with the production implications of development decisions. If it can’t be tested, it can’t be trusted. The clouds hold no secret for you, and you have a strong experience surfing the waves of technology that AWS introduces!

As a smava's DevOps engineer (m/f/d), you:

Your tasks

  • Guide teams during their AWS migration or their services, sharing your knowledge and best practices
  • Advice and implement effective monitoring of common or shared services such as messaging queues, databases, and web servers
  • Improve the understanding of container technologies across teams in Smava
  • Brainstorm with teams to automate their continuous integration & deployments of both code and infrastructure tasks
  • Discuss and align our changes that will have a wider impact with other teams
  • Develop blueprints for deployments, based on new technological advances or changing needs of teams
  • Evaluate architectural decisions based on the blueprints developed by the team
  • Be a part of the effort to get teams to a state of “you build it, you run it”

Must-haves

  • Experience working with Cloud technology - AWS is preferred
  • Experience working within a production system running 10’s of microservices
  • Experience working with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience working with Ansible and Terraform
  • Production observability: Grafana, Prometheus, Alertmanager
  • Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment
  • Fluency in English

Nice-to-haves:

  • One or more of the mentioned: Python, Groovy, Node.js, Bash, Go
  • Being familiar with Spring-cloud / Spring-boot
  • Incident management experience: opsgenie, dynatrace, splunk, post-mortems/lessons learned
  • Experience with Jenkins
  • Multi-cloud environment experience
  • Experience working with service mesh - Istio
