We are looking for someone who approaches DevOps as a discipline and a calling, whose goal is to lead the company in improving our systems. The ideal candidate will understand best DevOps practices that will allow us to innovate rapidly while delivering the accuracy and reliability that clinical systems demand.

Primary Responsibilities  

  • Implement industry best practices for system hardening and configuration management
  • Update and improve release management and deployment processes to improve agility, reliability, and uptime
  • Upgrade and maintain our threat matrix and coordinate with other teams to define and implement mitigations
  • Improve and maintain the automated portions of our Quality Management System to ensure that documentation is up to date as the software is built
  • Provide "Tier 2" backup to technical support to perform root cause analysis and escalate anomalies in the system
  • Collaborate with developers to identify opportunities to improve reliability and scalability
  • Migrate our Atlassian suite of servers to AWS and maintain their reliability and performance while helping us to use them productively
  • Review our use of AWS resources to take full advantage of security and scalability features
  • Develop and maintain solutions for operational administration, system/data backup, disaster recovery, and security/performance monitoring including active threat detection
  • Test and improve business continuity plans
  • Keep up to date on technologies and trends that will improve our implementation and operation
  • Work collaboratively with multiple developers and program management to help deliver end-to-end products and features, seeing them through from conception to delivery
  • Help define, document, evolve, and evangelize high engineering standards and best practices

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor or master's degree in CS, or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience working in agile environments
  • Extensive experience working within AWS (EC2, R53, SES, S3, CloudWatch, etc.)
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts (DNS, firewalls, VPC, subnetting, VPNs, etc.)
  • Familiarity with software security best practices
  • Working experience with version control, ticketing, and deployment systems, especially Atlassian
  • Ability to write moderately complex SQL queries
  • Experience with MVC, .Net, C# a plus
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Deep understanding of Windows system administration
  • An ability to drive to goals and milestones while valuing and maintaining strong attention to detail
  • Excellent judgment, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated individual that possesses excellent time management and organizational skills
