Scrum Master Permanent Full Time Pickering Based 75-85K legal client Software Development Team Toronto GTA Your new company Our client is a professional service company serving world class law-firms and banking clients in Canada and UK. The headquarter in Pickering is right next to GO train station. Due to business expanding, we are urgently looking for an experienced Scrum Master to join our team. During COVID, you'll be working from home. After COVID, there's some flexibility working from home and office. Your new role As the Scrum Master, you will be working closely with PM, Software Developers and QAs for project delivery. Your main responsibilities look like this: Responsible for ensuring Scrum is understood and the team adheres to Scrum theory, practice, and guidelines Champion agile behaviors & contributes to the advancement and improvement of Agile practices within the organization Facilitate and supports all scrum events: Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective Apply techniques for effective workflow visualization and management (e.g. Kanban or Scrum Boards) Contribute to program status reports and dashboards Lead the analysis and estimation effort within their work stream Attend all cross team meetings to ensure communication and collaboration across all work streams Facilitate team for better creativity, quality, & continuous delivery Help product owner to make the product backlogs in good shape and make them ready for the next sprint What you'll need to succeed As this is a technology solution company facing legal clients, excellent communication is very important for this role. We do prefer someone who has a strong background as Developer or QA in the past. As a successful candidate, you will have: Bachelor's degree 5+ years of experience as a scrum master Exemplifies and promotes Agile values and principles Strong communication skills; a communication style that resonates with and inspires listeners, and an effective use of Agile/project management terminology to foster a common understanding of these concepts Analytical and Proactive - synthesize information and bring the conversation forward Team-oriented - focus on winning together as a team Experience using Azure DevOps and/or TFS Strong knowledge of Scrum theory, rules and practices Adept at refinement, story splitting, estimation, velocity, retrospection, and other Scrum techniques Understand the basic fundamentals of iterative and incremental development. Knowledge of Agile approaches, like: Kanban, Crystal, FDD, XP, etc. Knowledge of software development processes and procedures to understand team needs Knowledge of Agile techniques like: User Stories, Continuous Integration, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing Knowledge about tasks, backlog tracking, burndown metrics, velocity, user stories etc. A technical background in web or software development, or otherwise a sophisticated understanding of product development and delivery What you'll get in return You will be working in a highly professional environment, in a caring team, with a family like working culture.
