Job Description :The Principal Engineer, Software role within the Revenue Technology domain, will have the opportunity to work on the modernization of our domain’s existing architecture as we begin the journey to the cloud. This is an excellent opportunity to work with some of the latest tools and cloud technologies in the market to redefine our domain’s architecture from the ground up and create a cloud architecture that is optimized and scalable for the rapid growth occurring within T-Mobile.The Revenue Technology domain is an essential part of T-Mobile’s back-office operations. The domain is responsible for the design, build and launch of critical revenue processing capabilities for T-Mobile’s Finance and Accounting Business Partners. What you’ll do?Working alongside a high-performing agile team, we are looking for a passionate, deeply experienced, and solution-oriented Principal level engineer with relevant cloud technology experience to work to design and implement complex ETL pipelines and reporting data stores for T-Mobile’s Accounting and Finance Business Partners that are both reliable and scalable to support T-Mobile’s current and future growth – all the while keeping up with the pace of innovation at T-Mobile. Responsibilities :Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development and automation of large scale, high-performance ETL processes and data pipelines to drive Data Standardization and reporting utilizing Azure Technologies
  • Ability to effectively communicate with non-technical business customers and other stakeholders regarding design, requirements, functionality, and limitations of systems/applications
  • Engaging directly with Senior level leadership with the ability to clearly articulate platform options and risks to senior non-technical team members
  • Lead continual improvement in team development cycle and DevOps best practices while driving technical workload tracking and code management standards across the team
  • Provide senior-level contribution to a team that is responsible for the design, development, and launch of Accounting & Finance capabilities
  • Ownership of the technical vision and development of assigned sub domain
  • Translates business and functional requirements into well documented technical specifications and user stories
  • Utilize development skills to build (code) and unit test new systems functionality per technical specifications, with deliverables to include code builds and documented unit test results
  • Facilitate code reviews with other members of the technical team, communicating design, requirements, feature set, functionality, and limitations of systems/applications to team and development lead
  • Collaborate with other teams including Accounting & Finance Business Partners, Enterprise Testing, Release Planning and Management, Project Management, and Product Operations on successful delivery of product enhancements and support
  • Oversight and delegation of work of contractor resources related to projects
  • Maintain technical skills and expertise through continuing education and training
Qualifications :Experience and education requirements:
  • Degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field from an accredited college/university
  • 5 - 8 years of professional experience developing and maintaining Data warehouse solutions using Big Data stack (Hadoop, Nifi, Azure Data Bricks, etc) or MPP Systems (Teradata, Snowflake) or Oracle (Cloud or On-Prem)
  • 3 - 5 years of application development experience
  • 3 - 5 years of ETL Development experience using standard ETL tools like Informatica, DataStage, SSIS, Talend or BODS
  • Experience with the collective Azure data stack – Azure Data Factory, Azure Event Hub, Azure-DevOps, Azure Databricks, etc. and understanding of how to optimize costs with a FinOps or cloud financial management lens
  • 3-5 years of technical leadership experience on at least 5 large scale projects, providing leadership and mentoring to at least 4 developers on each project, with projects impacting multiple business units and with development timelines greater than 4 months each
  • 3-5 years of professional experience using 3 or more development/scripting languages or tools (e.g., C#, ASP.Net, Python, Shell, Go, JavaScript, SQL)
  • Professional experience designing and developing Data warehouse applications using Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery tools, such as, GitHub, GitLab, BitBucket, etc., and other automation tools
  • Experience in delivering projects using software engineering best practices across the development lifecycle, including agile methodologies, coding standards, code reviews, source management, build processes, testing, and operations
  • Attitude and aptitude for continually learning new technologies and strategies
Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience with financial technology software solutions following double entry accounting principles
  • Experience in designing and implementing a fully operational solution on Snowflake Data Warehouse, along with familiarity with Snowflake utilities (i.e. Snowpipes)
  • 2-5 years of BI Visualization experience developing reports using PowerBI & Tableau
  • 3-5 years work experience as a developer is desirable, preferably in the wireless industry. Has experience working with at least 5 business applications/systems and has also provided tier 4 production support
  • 1-2 years of experience with Data Science in building predictive models and machine-learning algorithms

  • Demonstrated interest in the Revenue Technology space and articulate how past experience will enable them to achieve role expectation (as described above)
