Additionally, ZDP co-drives the ZEISS wide strategic program for Digital Ecosystem Enablement.

Your role:

As the principal e-commerce software architect for our digital customer interaction solutions, you will actively shape the digital services for our customers, driving their day-to-day successes. You’ll work within a cross-functional team of product owners, UX/UI designers, analytic experts, and engineers. Responsibilities include:

  • Designing and implementing our next-generation digital business and omnichannel e-commerce solutions
  • Supporting and managing the development team with hands-on coding skills
  • Collaborating with and contributing to agile development teams during implementation and refinement
  • Developing, applying and persuading others to implement ZEISS group-wide guidelines, and supporting relevant solution architecture
  • Communicate with architects from different segments, especially with an eye to ensuring e-commerce architecture fits into the sitewide landscape
  • Overseeing the development of products, solutions and services through to productivity

A successful candidate will have:

  • Effective communication skills to easily navigate in both corporate and tech environments
  • At least 5 years’ professional experience in a similar position, preferably in an agile environment, building confidence in e-commerce software engineering (B2B and API first products – not prototypes; mixed and omnichannel basket, split shipment, dynamic pricing)
  • A significant understanding of e-commerce mechanisms in order to bring a technical viewpoint into strategic discussions
  • Knowledge of the latest frontend architecture based on modern JavaScript Frameworks, as well as backend architecture focused on digital business and e-commerce
  • Strong coding skills, preferably in one of the following: TypeScript/React/node.js, Java, Golang, Python, .NET
  • A thorough understanding of at least one cloud, preferably Microsoft Azure, including its advantages, limitations and pitfalls.
  • A cloud-native mindset with experience in designing and developing cloud-based applications
  • Experience integrating and using a B2B experiment platform together with a customer data platform
  • Fluent English
